About Me

My name is Katherine.

I have been travelling the friendly skies for over a decade and finding the beauty in each city I visit.   I am a Canadian flight attendant living in Calgary, Alberta.

My university degree was a Bachelor of arts with a concentration in History.  I love history.  I am fascinated with learning about each city I visit be it the history or the customs.  I truly believe every city has something beautiful to offer, you just have to find it.

A wanderlust has plagued me my whole life.  I grew up seeing the world as my father worked for an airlines, his father before him and lastly my grandmother was a stewardess during the early days of aviation.  I love what I do, I love my job and the company I work for, though I will not divulge which one.

I have had amazing opportunities, enriched my life through experiences and people I have met.  A few years ago I decided to write about where I go, what I see and do when I visit different cities.  I called my first blog “travels with a flight attendant” and recently opted to move my musings here.

To me a Flight of Fancy is an unbelievable story, which is often how my life feels from the inside.  I cannot tell you how many times I have awed at where I am, it feels as though it were almost daily.  I have a few things I am not able to discuss besides for whom I work.  I will not divulge which hotels I stay at, nor will I be chronicling my flights and any of the crazy things that can happen on them.

My aim is to have a diary of my layovers. To tell you what I see whilst exploring cities for less than a day at a time.
